Welcome To Our First Edition

By James Martell

What a pleasure it is to welcome you to the very first edition of our newsletter.

As many know, Arlene and I have had the good fortune to raise our family while working from home.  Since 1999 we have been able to do this on the Internet by publishing websites that earn revenue through advertising, as well publishing training materials for those wishing to do the same.

The aim of this newsletter will be to give readers a sense of what it is like to raise a family in the midst managing our busy Internet business.  It is our belief that because of the great technological advances of our communications age more and more people will discover that a home office which utilize the Internet to publish advertising supported websites can be a viable option for many.

But, we also know that there are challenges.  For instance, if you've never worked from home you may find it difficult to organize yourself.  And if the social dynamics of the typical workplace are appealing then you may miss that.

And what about taxes?  If an employer has always deducted taxes from your paycheck, then you might get into difficulty managing your books and dealing directly with the local tax authorities.

And what about the balancing act of attending to family matters in the midst of a busy work day?

In the upcoming issues we will share with you how we, as a family have dealt with these issues, and more.

Because we realize that not all our subscribers are currently on the Internet we'll not overwhelm you with tech talk, although we'll address Industry Events and Tips and Techniques in each issue to address the interests of those currently online or who may be subscribed to one of my trainings

We'll also provide commentary on our family because in many ways they are a part of our business, as much as affiliate dog and Scamp the cat, at least.

And to give you an over-the-shoulder-peek of what it's like to run a website we'll keep you posted on the developments at EpilepsyMoms.com, Arlene's site, which was built from scratch under my direction during the recording of my 26-week SUPER BootCamp.

And I'll also share with you details on how it's going with KitCarConnection.com, a site I built around my interest in Kit Cars.

Overall, we hope you'll stay with us.  We believe you'll be well served.

All the best,
