How I Use A $50 Graphics Editor
To Make Quick And Easy Images By James Martell No matter what type of business you’re running from home, you no doubt require the help of a graphic designer on occasion. Well, how would you feel if I told you that you could be doing the work yourself? It’s true. Like you, I didn’t think I would be able to take care of my own image editing, but thanks to a great program, the dirty work is done for me. I started using a program called Snagit over a year ago, with no regrets.
It’s easy to follow – unlike more intricate software – and it allows me to create images and modify photos for my websites. Best of all, I have no use for graphic designers who can charge $75.00 or more per hour. Money is time, and hiring a professional usually means waiting for a finished product. While Snagit is a great program, it doesn’t make me a graphic design expert. To be honest, I don’t want to become one. I would be lost without this program, especially since I can capture screen shots or an entire web page. To catch a web page in its entirety, Snagit provides a scrolling window feature that transforms the site into a PDF file.
I also use Snagit to create PowerPoint presentations filled with graphics, by capturing an image or web page and sending it directly through. The program links the graphics or image directly to my presentation, so I don’t have to go searching for it or follow a set of complicated steps. Snagit produces results that make me look like I really know what I’m doing. I even used the image editor to design the SUPER BootCamp, using an average of 125 slides per presentation. In total, I created more than 3,200 slides with ease. The program doesn’t stop there. I use it to create quick, on-the-fly tutorials, where I can add narrative instructions. It helps me add photos and images to these newsletters, and I can quickly take a “picture” of something on my screen and send it to someone else for clarification during a Skype chat or phone call.

called “edge effects”, which
gives images a more polished
look, using drop shadows,
faded edges and torn edges,
among others.
