Amazon Makes It Easy! By Arlene Martell James and I joined the Amazon affiliate program (called Amazon associates) years ago and have been receiving checks ever since. Lately, I have used Amazon.com to find some great products to offer my EpilepsyMoms.com site and they make real easy for me to add them.
Amazon has a cool logo. As you can see in the photo it is an arrow leading from A to Z, representing customer satisfaction (as it forms a smile). Amazon is popular - it's website attracted at least 615 million visitors annually by 2008. They offer a "search inside the book" feature which gives buyers a sneak peek and really helped sales. They also sell books on the increasingly popular Kindle reader. This is why I want Amazon on my site - they are well known and have a great reputation! Products added to my site:
Like any merchant, they pay me a commission every time a sale is made from my affiliate link on my site. What I like about Amazon, is that when someone makes a purchase, they also recommend 3 more products the consumer might be interested in that is similar to their purchase. What I am finding, is that once they are in Amazon, they start looking around at other products and although most of my sales are Epilepsy or kid related - I get lots of sales for items that are completely unrelated. It is very cool.
Adding products to my site is a breeze and they have a really cool toolbar they call a "site strip" to make it so easy. Choose from:
The site stripe is very handy. I can do a search for the product I want, then simply click "Link to this page" and it sets up the link for my automatically. They also have a feature called "link checker" which is used to check to make sure your Amazon links are valid. All the best,
