Kit Car Website – Plus Ways to Keep Website Content Fresh and Budget Friendly

By James Martell

A few months back, I did a little three part series in the Newsletter about migrating the kit car website from the Drupal content management system over to SocialGo, a social media based CMS. The move went relatively smooth thanks to the help of my daughter Shelby, and son Justin and their lightning fast keyboard skills. The biggest part of making the move was to manually move almost 300 articles from one content management system to the other.

Long time listeners to the Affiliate Buzz Podcast, and members of my Bootcamp understand the importance of adding fresh content to their sites. Fresh content gives you the opportunity to cover a larger number of keywords - casting a larger net for the search engines and keeping your visitors interested and coming back for more good resourceful information.

Other reasons for bringing fresh content to your website is the competitive advantage you have over static based websites. The challenge though for webmasters like us is that we are busy doing a variety of different things. It is no small tasks to consistently research, write and add three new articles every week, no matter how well meaning you are towards the success of your websites.

The remedy to this is to outsource these tasks to a professional writer. Since I understand the importance of fresh content, I have hired through Elance.com a writer who has continued to add 3 articles a week to the site. They also welcome new members, comment on photos and videos that are being uploaded by the members. He has been a great help at keeping the site fresh with content and in touch daily with site members. Since he has been involved for 3 months now, the site has grown by 25 additional articles and it is current and fresh and right up to date. The cost of this has been very reasonable, running me about $30 a week. I am still active on the site, but for me, it is just fun being there and not being the one responsible on a daily basis to make sure everything is done and done right.

If you are finding that your site could use a little assistance in these areas, don't let another minute go by without posting a project on Elance.com.

All the best,
