Check
out iStockPhoto for High Quality, Low Cost Images to Enhance
Your Website and Landing Pages By James Martell
One of those services is called iStockPhoto. This member generated image and design community has been around the internet for quite some time. Besides carrying safe royalty free photographs, iStockPhoto also sells vector illustrations, video footage, audio tracks and flash files. Are you excited yet? I found iStockPhoto to be fun and easy to use. After joining, your very own “Lightbox” is set up for you so that you can store items there before deciding which ones to buy. Sort of like window shopping but less hard on your feet.
You can purchase them one at a time or in groups. Your account is set up by purchasing credits. A credit could cost from $.99 to $1.50 depending on the size of the photo. We use these all the time to upgrade the look of websites and landing pages. These days, you need an arsenal of internet tools to keep your competitive edge. iStockPhoto is a tool you will use again and again. You’ll appreciate the cost savings and the quality of the product immediately. All the best,

I remember in the mid
90’s working with local graphic designers who
thought nothing of charging me $200 - $300 to use a
professional photo in our marketing materials.
Things have dramatically changed since then, thanks
to the Internet and services that offer professional
high quality stock photos that can be purchased for
a buck or two.
You can chose pictures
through a search, for example; you can search for
“mother with baby”, “construction worker”, “kids in
water”, “chatting online”, etc. - then narrow down
your search. Most pictures have a white background
or scenery behind them and there are typically 50 or
more images to choose from in any given search. You
will most likely find exactly what you are looking
for and much quicker and less hassle than using a
browser.
